Baked Pecan Apple Crumbles

My guilt-free Baked Pecan Apple Crumbles satisfy any sweet tooth! They are easy to make and contain “good for you” ingredients. This recipe does not include any oil or butter, and includes, fruit, nuts and grains.

This recipe yields three apple crumbles. They are perfect for dessert, or those looking for a sweet and delicious breakfast! (Please excuse the snap pics!)

Apple Mixture:

  • 2 Red Apples, any variety, chopped
  • 1 TB Brown Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Pecans, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon

Topping Mixture:

  • ½ Cup Instant Oats
  • ½ tsp. Cinnamon
  • ½ Chopped Pecans
  • 5 TB Brown Sugar
  • 1 TB Applesauce

The first thing is to prep your apple mixture. Get started by washing your apples and dicing them into small pieces, and place in a medium-size mixing bowl. Add the brown sugar, pecans and cinnamon. Mix well and place into a ramekin.

For the topping, you can use the same mixing bowl to combine all of the topping ingredients. Add the oats, cinnamon, pecans and brown sugar. A typical crumble topping includes butter to combine the ingredients, forming pea size crumbles. Rather than using butter, I used applesauce to get the same result, plus it’s healthier!

Spoon the topping over each ramekin and pat down with the spoon. Place into a 350-degree oven. I baked these in my toaster oven for 35 minutes.

Remove when done baking and allow them to cool 15 minutes before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream if having these for dessert!
